Health Night Out will be held Monday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the MountainView Ballroom. Speaker and Medicare Insurance Educator Gary Anderson will present: Confused and Overwhelmed by Medicare?

Medicare Open Enrollment is October 15 to December 7; plan to be present and learn what you need to know before it is time to make those difficult decisions. With 40 Medicare Advantage plans, 11 Medicare Supplement plans (also known as Medigap plans) and 50 prescription drug plans to choose from, how can you know the best one for you? How can you not be confused? For information and help on plans within your state, you can research informational sites that can allow you to educate yourself a little easier when it comes to these Medicare plans and the differences that can arise within various states, for example, read into this Jacksonville medicare guide for medicare options within Florida.

Gary Anderson is the educator for the healthcare professionals at Northwest Medical Center, Urgent Care Center and for Community Centers in Green Valley and Casa Grande.

The objective of this seminar is to make Medicare options crystal clear, so that you come away knowing your rights, options and entitlements, which then helps you make informed decisions that will best meet your health insurance needs.

Some of the questions and concerns regarding Medicare he hears most are I feel overwhelmed by all the mail I receive and decisions I need to make, especially when I first become eligible for Medicare. What will my insurance rates be five to 10 years from now? What risk adjustment coding will affect me? Can I switch between plans in the future? If so, are there penalties? Restrictions? How is healthcare reform affecting Medicare? Are some products in Medicare being cut? Which insurance companies can I trust the most? Sometimes, the only way to answer the latter is to go online and find a list of the best companies to make an educated decision.

Come early. Mr. Anderson’s sessions are always very well attended.

Plan to come extra early to the MountainView Bistro and enjoy a tasty, healthy entrée prepared by Chef Robert before you stroll down the hall to participate in Health Night Out.
