On March 29, 2014 GLAAS (Gays, Lesbians and Allies at SaddleBrooke) hosted a Community Brunch and invited representatives from the Tucson Chapter of PFLAG (Parents, Friends of Lesbians and Gays) to attend.

This was a special event sponsored by GLAAS to provide a forum for residents of SaddleBrooke who have friends and family who are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender to share their stories and learn more about how to communicate on issues of gender.

The event was held at the SaddleBrooke One Activity Center and about sixty people from SaddleBrooke were in attendance. A wonderful potluck brunch was shared by all. Dr. Terry Kriesel, president of Tucson PFLAG and his wife Carol (proud parents of a lesbian daughter) opened the dialog by sharing their experiences and other PFLAG guests also relayed poignant and funny stories of relating to their gay and lesbian children. The morning was filled with stories and sharing, celebration, good food and camaraderie among PFLAG members, SaddleBrooke residents and members of GLAAS.

GLAAS is a sanctioned club of SaddleBrooke whose mission is to foster communication between Gays, Lesbians and Allies. Allies are straight people that see the value of welcoming and supporting lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender people here in SaddleBrooke. We hold social events and also sponsor programs throughout the year. To learn more and to join, go to our website at SBGLAAS.com.
