Is there a better way to kick off a charity event than with golden boxing gloves?

Imagine a fabulous celebration with 145 of your closest friends, great food, joyous decorations and a true party atmosphere. Then throw in hope, gratitude, love and several dozen teddy bears and you have the perfect ingredients for a truly spectacular afternoon!

The SBWGA-18 teamed up with the Lady Niners on January 31 to celebrate our survivors and in their honor selected the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children to support in the 2017 Cancer charity golf tournament and luncheon.

The theme was Giving Ava a Voice and we were honored to have as our guest speaker the Foundation’s CEO, Chrisie Funari whose daughter, Ava, was not five years old when she lost her battle against pediatric cancer.

Ava’s courage inspired her mother to create the foundation to bring hope and help to other Arizona families who face the diagnosis.

We celebrated our own beloved SaddleBrooke Survivors as Chrisie is seated among them.

The hope, kindness and generosity in the room moved Chrisie to tears during her talk as she looked out on her audience and told them of her family’s journey, because she knew that against the magnificent backdrop of the Catalina Mountains on that last day of January, her daughter Ava’s voice had been heard.
