FSL needs you

Nancy McCluskey-Moore

The Friends of SaddleBrooke Libraries (FSL) was established in 2000 to provide funding for new library materials and equipment for the three SaddleBrooke Libraries. FSL raises funds through membership fees, community education events, fundraising events/activities and tax-exempt gifts. A strong FSL ensures the libraries can provide new materials to SaddleBrooke residents.

We are looking for volunteers to serve on the FSL board in the following positions for the 2019-20 term, starting in January 2019. A board member can serve up to three consecutive two-year terms and then single year terms after that.

Community Education: Lecture Chair/Co-chair

Duties include planning the annual lecture series (five to seven per year) using speakers from the Arizona Humanities program and/or other sources, making arrangements with clubhouse staff for the room and AV equipment, providing information for a flyer about the lecture series and working with the Communications Chair and Membership Chair to promote the lecture series.

Community Education: Author Luncheon Chair/Co-chair

Duties include planning two author luncheons per year, including selecting and securing contract with authors to pay for travel expenses and honorarium, making arrangements with clubhouse staff for the room, food and AV equipment, providing information for the luncheon program and working with Board members as needed to organize, promote and arrange payment for the event.
