Educated owners make for great dogs and that’s why SaddleBrooke dog owners are invited to hear a special speaker slated for October 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the north Coyote Room of the HOA1 Clubhouse.

“The SaddleBrooke Dog Park board decided to start a Speakers Series with Dog Behavior Experts coming to SaddleBrooke to share their expertise and firsthand knowledge on why dogs do what they do,” explains Board President Kathleen Dunbar.

If you’re interested in learning more about dogs and dog training, this is the initial offering in the Dog Park’s new Speakers Series. All talks are open and free to all SaddleBrooke residents.

“The Dog Park Board is focused on making the park a safe and happy place for both dogs and people and the Dog Park has had so many people involved going back to the beginning in 2004 with the work of implementing the plan for the park that we thought it was time to share,” Dunbar said.

The October 19 speaker will be Karyn Garvin with her unique message about The Integrated Approach to dog training.

All dog trainers teach through stories. Karyn’s stories just happen to be based on her belief in the Divine, that power which is greater than ourselves. Her integrated approach to dog training includes spirituality, science, psychology, universal laws, nature and the natural order of life as we know it.

The focus during this one hour presentation will be: The Integrated Approach to dog training—a new paradigm; How the dog develops psychologically as it matures during its lifetime; How dog behavior changes at home, at the dog park and on leash with maturity; Managing our dogs in these situations.

Be prepared to stay even longer for the question and answer period if you choose to do so. Karyn indicated she will stay until all questions have been answered.

Karyn Garvin has been a professional dog trainer and dog behavior specialist since 1978. During this time she has provided no less than 40,000 private lessons with dog owners in the Phoenix and Tucson area.

She is also an author and a Tucson Ted X speaker. She would love it if you took a moment to go to her website, GarvinsDivineDogTraining.com to view her recent Ted X Talk, Save a Dog’s Life.
