Francophiles celebrate the spirit of the season

Pat Smith

“‘Tis the Season to Be Jolly” and the SaddleBrooke Francophiles celebrated with their first ever Holiday Walk on December 9. Several dozen spirited members met in The Preserve and joined together in true holiday style, sharing a variety of hearty hors d’oeuvres and beverages at five host homes on Desert Son Drive: Carie and Ralph Scalzo, Mike and Maria Miller, Pat and George Dawydowych, Carey and Bob Picard, arriving at Dave and Mylinda Guillens’ for dessert and wines. The holiday spirit was truly present for all and in the spirit of giving members donated $150 to the SaddleBrooke Community Food Drive. Ho, Ho, Ho!

The New Year commences with the Feast of Kings on January 6, followed by the ever popular La Chandeleur Crepe Party on February 10. SaddleBrooke Francophiles will be celebrating on March 10 with the Foods and Wines of the Regions of France, followed by the Paris in the Park event on April 14. Each of these activities will highlight the many and varied thematic events organized by the Planning Committee for 2017-2018. In addition, Diners a la Maison, chaired by Mylinda Guillen, offer more intimate gatherings for members who wish to share fun and fabulous cuisine with others.
