Flexibility, core strength and a lean body

TeriLee Olivier, ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer
As a ftness professional, I like to teach my clients how to integrate barre isometric exercises into their workout routine to shed weight, gain muscle mass, build strength, increase flexibility, rehab from an injury or supplement your current fitness routine to help achieve a healthier lifestyle regardless of your age or fitness level.
At the core of this technique is an understanding that exercise doesn’t have to beat you down to be effective. As your fitness trainer, I use a series of low impact, isometric movements that are designed to target the major muscles of the body: your abdominals, thighs, glutes, chest, shoulders, back and arm muscles. The strength and flexibility training are meant to be challenging. Push yourself! I take a balanced approach to the workout that enables you to realize a strong core and a supple, vibrant and youthful body.
The benefits of barre isometric exercise include helping those that suffer from overuse injuries, relief of pre- and post-surgery pain through more flexibility, as well as finding that this approach is very therapeutic to your overall mental and physical well-being. Barre isometric fitness provides exercise for the body in a balanced way by improving strength, core stability, flexibility and increasing bone density. It also reduces stress and improves your sense of well-being, along with transforming, reshaping and increasing muscle density. It improves muscle elasticity by stretches that elongate the muscles with particular attention paid to proper position and alignment during the exercise program.
What I try to instill in my clients is that persistence, perseverance and patience will gradually balance out your muscular system, reduce chronic aches and pains, raise your level of fitness and discover the joy of movement again. Listen to your body and push yourself to continually improve. Remember: “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.”
