The DIGital Photography Club of SaddleBrooke (DIGS) has recently undertaken two initiatives to better meet the needs of current and prospective club members.

“We survey frequently to make sure we are meeting the interests of our club members,” said President John Triebe. “One area that always gets a strong response is learning more about Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop software, and we are forming a Special Interest Group (SIG) to meet that need. The SIG will be led by Nelson Rodriguez, who has a lot of experience with these products.

“We also recently completed a refresh of the club website,” added Triebe. “The changes provide a clean, modern look and reflect the club’s recent name change. The site also provides welcoming and meeting information for prospective members and a wealth of information on useful links and past presentations for current club members. I want to thank our Webmaster Byron Cotter for his hard work on the refresh and continuing efforts to maintain the site.”

Concerning the creation of the new Special Interest Group, SIG leader Rodriguez provided additional information. “We have a lot of interest among club members in learning more about these two very powerful editing tools. We are also fortunate we have many members who are very knowledgeable about using them. In fact, many members used this software during their working careers and are more than willing to share their knowledge with others.

“It just made sense to get these folks with common interests together, separate from regular club meetings,” Rodriguez continued. “We will let the group members decide how they want to move forward, but I anticipate we will have a mix of presentations, mentoring and problem-solving sessions.”

The first meeting of the SIG has not been set, but club members should watch for emails and future notices on the DIGS website.
