The DesertView Cinema Club just completed its eighth year of providing high quality professional cinema at bargain basement prices at the DesertView Performing Arts Center. The November/April season was extremely successful from an attendance and membership viewpoint. We thank all residents for their support; we thank the Unit Reps and the HOA staffs for their support as well.
The DVCC runs on a lean volunteer staff. We have one marketing person (Dick Fleming), one cashier coordinator (Allen Halper), one Halper backup (Anne Buxton), one Treasurer (Pat Alcivar), one movie selection coordinator (Emily Anderson) and one webmaster (Ron Bechky). Each of these volunteers has earned our thanks many times over.
Now both Pat and Emily have asked to be replaced for the November season. A good estimate of time needed for these two jobs would be one hour per week, though the Movie Coordinator probably puts in most of the time in a single week each month.
