DAR meeting notice

Danna C. Koelling

One of the objects of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence by the acquisition and protection of historical spots and the erection of monuments; by the encouragement of historical research in relation to the Revolution and the publication of its results; by the preservation of documents and relics and of the records of the individual services of Revolutionary soldiers and patriots and by the promotion of celebrations of all patriotic anniversaries. DAR is a 501(c) (3) organization with about 184,000 members world-wide.

Any women over the age of 18 who can prove direct lineage to a patriot who supported the colonies during the Revolutionary War are eligible for membership. Service can be patriotic, civil or military. Descendants of signers of the Declaration of Independence also qualify.

The El Presidio Chapter meets in the Oro Valley area. We support our veterans, local schools and first responders. DAR is something like SaddleBrooke ~ there is something for everyone

Come to the Oro Valley Library on Saturday, January 20 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and meet with some of our members who will explain the membership application process. Bring what you know about your lineage to a possible patriot and we will help you with the application process. If you have a question call 520-488-7707.
