Community Circle Players announces spring 2019 production

Dinner Theatre is coming back to SaddleBrooke, but with a twist. For the past two seasons, Community Circle Players has entertained SaddleBrooke residents with the murder mysteries, Eat, Drink, and be Deadly! and The Mafiosi Murders. This year CCP is going for laughs with Don’t Drink the Water by Woody Allen, presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. The play is set somewhere behind the Iron Curtain in the 1960s, but will be slightly updated for our 2019 audience. An ordinary American family goes on vacation to Europe and unintentionally cause an international spying incident when Walter, the New Jersey caterer, turned tourist, photographs a sunset in a sensitive region. In order to stay out of jail, the Hollander family takes refuge in the American Embassy surrounded by Soviet forces. The Hollanders stay at the embassy is complicated by Walter’s delicate palate, a refugee Priest, an impending visit from an Arab Emir and the absent Ambassador’s diplomatically incompetent son. As you can guess, hilarity ensues.

This year Shawne Cryderman will direct with Judi Brauns as her assistant director. Susan Sterling and Carol Merlini will co-produce. We invite new people to join our troupe, both on stage and behind the scenes and welcome back our CCP veterans.

Auditions are Monday, January 7 and Tuesday, January 8 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. MountainView Ballroom West. No need to prepare a scene, auditions will be a cold read. Please plan to attend both days if possible.

Rehearsals will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with more days required closer to performance dates. Memorization is a must for our actors.

Performance dates are Sunday, March 17; Monday, March 18 and Tuesday, March 19 at SaddleBrooke One Vistas Dining Room. Additional performances are Friday, March 22; Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 in the SaddleBrooke TWO MountainView Ballroom.

Ticket sales for both venues go on sale Wednesday, January 30.
