Community Church at SaddleBrooke: Fascinators and Fellowship

Margaret Falkowski

The ladies of Community Church at SaddleBrooke transformed the HOA 1 Activity Center into a festive tea room on August 4. Hosted by the ‘Tea Divas,’ Mary Baglien, Norma Weaver, Vicki Tessitore and Margaret Falkowski, 40 ladies enjoyed a High Tea afternoon.

Each was encouraged to bring her own treasured china cup and saucer or borrow one from one of the many brought by Divas. With the clink of cups on the saucers and the excited chatter of the ladies it was a joyous sound and one due to be repeated next year. The buffet line had many varieties of scones and finger sandwiches, fruit and dainty pastries. Included was a large spread of gluten free foods. Many of the ladies wore fascinators and Sunday hats, adding to the special feel of the day.

The highlight of the tea was a talk given by Pat Huska about Enjoying Our Garden. She profiled three gardens from the Bible and gave us encouragement to enjoy the garden that God has provided each of us at this time in our lives. The floral decorations created by Vicki Tessitore reinforced Pat’s the—also known as the Three Tremors.

By all accounts the day was a great success and planning has already started for next year’s time of fellowship, finery, food and fascinators. Community Church at SaddleBrooke meets every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in the DesertView Theatre. We are a church of grace and all are welcome.
