The SB Chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-partisan, non-profit group of SaddleBrooke residents who support the proposals put forth by the Citizens’ Climate Lobby and the Climate Leadership Council as the best way to mitigate the harmful effects of climate change.

On April 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sonoran Room of MountainView Clubhouse, the SB Chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby will be presenting a talk by Ted Halstead, one of the founders of the Climate Leadership Council. The CLC has developed a plan, based on a free market approach, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which in turn will result in economic benefits, health benefits, reduced government regulation, and increased international cooperation. It has been endorsed by multiple editorial boards as well as many large corporations including Exxon Mobil, Johnson and Johnson, and Shell. The US needs to return to engagement and leadership in curbing emissions of greenhouse gases. This will immediately improve public health and contribute to mitigation of long-term climate change. Ted Halstead’s presentation is about 14 minutes long and will be followed by discussion and questions.
