The Elks National Foundation’s (ENF) Most Valuable Student Scholarship Program recognizes top high school graduates across the country based upon their academic achievements, leadership skills, extracurricular activities and their participation in community services. Five exceptional students from Oro Valley high schools were awarded $1,200 ENF scholarships at Catalina Mountain Elks National Youth Week Program on May 4, 2014. The recipients were Connor Reilly and Samantha Sasse (Pusch Ridge Christian Academy), Erica Harris and Suzannah Whitlatch (Ironwood Ridge High School) and Stephan Keeme-Sayre (Immaculate Heart High School).

Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge No. 2815 scholarships were awarded to five outstanding college students, Eric Wardell, Jacob Wardell, Mally McGarity, Jessica Grille and Amanda Wittenborn. They each received $500. This program offers scholarships to students who are pursuing post-secondary degrees or certifications from vocational or technical schools. They must have successfully completed at least one grading period of study.

Ironwood Ridge High School students Mackenzie Fritz and Craig Simmons were selected High School Students of the Year. The students were selected from Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge Student of the Month Program based upon their achievements in citizenship, scholarship, service and leadership.
