The Canyon Del Oro Baptist Church located at the intersection of Oracle and Calle Concordia in Oro Valley announced plans to upgrade and expand their existing campus which began in March with final completion in summer of 2017. The first phase will be the upgrade to the current facilities with new administrative offices, kitchen, nursery and classrooms with completion expected by October 2016. Concurrent with that work will be the start of a new parking lot. Then, in June, construction will begin on three new facilities including a new 20,000 square feet sanctuary that will seat 650 people in a theatre style layout. It will have state-of-the art audio visual equipment and lighting as well as a new nursery. Adjacent to the sanctuary will be two other buildings to serve the needs of 3 to 17 year olds. The new sanctuary, children and youth buildings are all expected to be completed by September 2017. CDO Baptist is committed to reaching residents in the northwest Tucson areas including Oro Valley, North Tucson, Marana, Catalina and SaddleBrooke communities with programs to serve the spiritual, social and supportive needs of residents there.
