The ladies were joined by their husbands at a British Club Hors D’oeuvres and Wine Party held at the home of Mike and Eileen Sedgwick on Saturday, August 20. The 96 degree heat of the day had subsided, giving way to a pleasantly cool evening where some members out of the 30 attending could enjoy the cool breeze on the patio. All enjoyed the fine fare comprised of vegetable dip and chips, baked mushrooms, cocktail sandwiches, tortilla wraps, cold cuts with cheese and olives, potato casserole, olive casserole bites, quiche, Swedish meatballs and teriyaki chicken. For dessert there was a fine selection to choose from — chocolate cake, strawberry and cream sponge log, cheese cake, freshly homemade sponge cakes, cookies and fresh melon chunks, all accompanied by freshly brewed coffee.
Everyone agreed it was a very pleasant way to spend an evening, sharing the camaraderie of friends while catching up on their summer exploits and plans for the future.
