On Friday, February 15 at the home of Elke and Mike Mulligan, twenty-nine members and two guests of the British Club celebrated Valentine’s Day, and Mike Mulligan’s birthday. As usual a good time was had by all enjoying the camaraderie between friends and delicious buffet contributed by members. Much to everyone’s delight, sausage rolls were in abundance, finger sandwiches, Swedish meatballs, bean dip and crackers, shrimp with cocktail sauce and a selection of canapés (paté and mushroom).
Following the buffet, a selection of wonderful desserts was served, which included coconut macaroons, cheese cake, brownies and a special birthday cake for Mike. There was a champagne toast to Valentine’s Day and Mike’s birthday with refrains of the Happy Birthday song.
Everyone thanked Elke and Mike for inviting them into their lovely home in SaddleBrooke to enjoy the celebrations of the day.
Every second and fourth Friday of the month the British Club has a social event in the bar area at SaddleBrooke Clubhouse which includes the following activities: Canasta, Mexican Train and maybe Bridge from 1:00 p.m. until around 4:00 p.m. This is followed by a social hour and a bar meal.
