On a glorious Saturday evening April 16 beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the south lawn of HOA1 Clubhouse, the Canada del Oro men’s barbershop chorus, led by Nancy Bergman, performed a variety of songs with introductions by Don Bott. They sang for a half hour with an invitation for the audience to join in singing God Bless America, their final selection. The chorus was invited by the Winds and Strings to share its second annual concert on the lawn. Everyone was encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and snacks. It was estimated the audience to be over 200 with many coming to enjoy parts of the concert after dining in the Vistas.

The Winds and Strings, directed by Ed Sand, performed a variety of Broadway, movie and pop songs such as Cabaret, 76 Trombones, I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and a salute to Louie Armstrong such as St. Louis Blues, What A Wonderful World and Hello Dolly. The audience was invited to join the band singing America the Beautiful in its final selection. If anyone is interested in singing in the barbershop chorus or playing in the band they may contact Don Bott or Ed Sand.
