It’s autumn, time for ballroom dancers to learn to dance. In October, more than 20 club member participants are learning to Waltz with instructor Phil Doyle. Already they know steps, form and patterns and are twirling around the dance floor waltzing to beautiful music.

Have you ever considered learning to ballroom dance? Perhaps now is the time. Dancing is an excellent activity for maintaining good health as it combines physical activity, mental thought and socialization. SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club offers free social dance lessons for SaddleBrooke residents. Our professional-level dance instructors provide cool music, instruction and a relaxed learning environment. You bring energy and enthusiasm. Together we will expand our dance knowledge. In November, have a rockin’ good time learning to East Coast Swing with Claudia Booth, Barry and Linda Moore. This is a very fun and versatile dance, perfect for our Sock Hops and many other dance events. Be introduced to basics, perfect previous learning or tackle some new steps. Class dates are October 31, November 7, 14 and 28. For questions or to sign up, contact Barry and Linda at [email protected].

If you’d like to learn a nice slow dance to do with your honey, come to the Night Club Two Step lessons in December with Brian Hand and Sheila Honey. Night Club Two Step works across many genres of music with lots of graceful moves; it’s a nice alternative to the shuffling slow dance we did in high school. Class dates are December 5, 12, 19 and 26. For questions or to sign up, contact Brian at [email protected].

Dance lessons are on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Mariposa Room at the DesertView Clubhouse. Then practice what you’ve learned at review sessions, which are held on Saturdays from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at SaddleBrooke Vermilion Room.

After ringing in the new year, SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club will continue to offer lessons. We will be providing lessons in Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, West Coast Swing and Bachata. Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced dancer, there is plenty of opportunity to improve your dancing and have fun in the process.
