The members of the American Legion Oro Valley Post 132 wish to thank the readers of this publication for their support of our August 25 charity golf tournament. Thanks to your kind and generous support, local homeless and ‘at risk’ veterans will continue to receive the care and assistance they deserve. To the dedicated men and women of our “adopted” local Arizona National Guard Battalions, it means that while they are answering the call of duty, their families will not be forgotten.
The steadfast support we receive has allowed us to make a difference in the lives of veterans and service members. We have been honored by local, state and national veterans support organizations for our programs that benefit veterans in need. In recognition of our support of National Guard members in need, we have received the Community Partner of the Year award from the Arizona National Guard and the Community Purple Award from the U.S. National Guard Bureau. We are the only organization from Arizona to receive the prestigious national Community Purple award.
